The Challenge: In the wake of COVID-19, Harkins Theatres needed a powerful, scalable promotional sub-brand to win back audiences from streaming services and drive critical foot traffic. The creative had to be visually stunning to match the blockbuster films it promoted and function as an agile template for rapid deployment across digital social channels, web assets, and in-theatre printed collateral.

My Role & Process: As the project's Visual Designer, I owned the end-to-end creation of this new sub-brand. I spearheaded a rapid, iterative design process:

  • Rapid Ideation: Developed 3-4 distinct creative concepts, pre-optimized for key formats and channels.

  • Collaborative Refinement: Led a feedback loop with design peers to strengthen execution, followed by structured reviews with the Creative Director to align on strategic vision.

  • Agile Execution: Finalized a high-impact design in just three rounds, culminating in a winning concept featuring dynamic characters breaking out of typography—a visual metaphor for escape and cinematic excitement.

The Result: The "Blockbuster Bring Backs" campaign directly fueled a dramatic recovery in audience engagement and revenue.

  • Engagement: Drove a 2% Click-Through Rate (CTR),

  • Measurable Conversions: Directly attributed 150 ticket bundle sales via a tracked promo code, providing undeniable proof of campaign effectiveness.
